Attendance Policy

REASON: To Encourage Regular Attendance at Meetings and Campouts
|
|
TROOP MEETINGS (be there and be on time)
|

|
|
Scout must attend at least 75% of all Regular Troop Meetings during the semester.
- Attendance will be taken at 7:00 PM lineup
- Late arrival will be counted as half an absence
|
|
CAMPS (be there, be on time, and don't leave early)
|
|
|
Scout must attend at least 2 weekend campouts each semester.
- One campout may be the December Patrol Campout
- Staff may also have a Campout in December, and it would count
- FEBRUARY SKI TRIP DOES NOT COUNT AS A CAMPOUT
- Attendance will be taken at 7:00 AM lineup
- Late arrival will be counted as 1/2 an absence
- Early departure will be counted as 1/2 an absence

UNIFORM
|
|
|
Scouts are expected to be in "Full Uniform" for all Troop Meetings and travel to and from Campouts. Attendance credit may be subtracted for repeated failure to wear proper uniform

STAFF MEETINGS
|
|
|
Each member of Staff or Staff-in-Training may have no more than one unexcused absence to a staff meeting during each semester. Only Dr. Marcy can excuse an absense before a meeting.
|
|
CONSEQUENCES
|
|
|
For a Scout who fails to meet minimum attendance requirements for either Troop Meetings or Camps during a semester:
- Scout will be on probation for the next semester
- No rank advancement will be possible during probationary period
- If minimum attendance requirements are not met during probation, scout will be asked to leave the Troop
|
|
THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO EVERY RULE
|
|
|
- Exceptions can be made for illness or injury
- If Scout is unable to attend school, he is not expected to attend the Scout meeting
- Exceptions cannot be made for schedule conflicts or other activities
- Scout must request an exception by note, fax, or email sent to Dr. Marcy with the circumstances explained
