28th Annual Ski Trip - President's Weekend
Mammoth Mountain on February 18-21, 2022
On Presidents' weekend February 18-21, 2022 Troop 2 Scouts (Recruits and up) will ski in Mammoth Mountain. We will leave Santa Monica at 4:00pm on Friday, February 18, 2022, for a bus trip to Mammoth Mountain. After spending the night at our hotel in Mammoth, we will begin our adventure on Saturday morning. For Scouts who are beginning skiers or snowboarders, instruction will be provided. Scouts who are experienced skiers or snowboarders will be encouraged to work on the Snow Sports Merit Badge. We plan on three full days on the slopes, with our return to Santa Monica on Monday evening about 10:00pm.
Schedule of Events
The package price includes transportation, lodging, lift tickets, 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners. Scouts are asked to bring money for one dinner en route and lunches on the mountain. On the way to Mammoth Friday night, the bus will stop at a fast food conglomerate, but it’s OK to bring a sack dinner instead. Ski/snowboard rentals are not included. Helmets are required for all Scouts.
The package price is $475 for any Scout who worked at least 20 hours at the Troop 2 tree lot this year, $525 for any Scout who worked 10-20 hours, and $575 for all other Scouts. In addition, you can deduct $100 if your Scout will be age 12 or under on February 21, 2022. Parents, but not brothers and sisters (sorry), are invited to join us at the price of $650 per person. If you are a talented adult skier or snowboarder, we would love to have you join our corps of instructors.
In order to book transportation and accommodations, we must have payment by Wednesday, January 26, to hold your space. Please send payment directly to me: Steve Marcy, 3242 Stoner Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90066. Be sure to indicate who in the family is going if other than the Scout. Make checks payable to Troop 2 BSA.
This is our 28th annual ski/snowboarding trip, and it promises to be another terrific weekend of skiing, snowboarding, and camaraderie with our Scouts and parents. I hope you can make it.
